Gili Trawangan ferry port serves the largest of the three Gili Islands off the north-west coast of Lombok. Traffic here is a speedboat operation rather than a ferry service in the European sense: 16 operators together run up to 116 departures a day, among them Bali Eka Jaya, Bluewater Express and Dcamel Fast Ferry.
From here you can reach eight destinations. The lion's share goes to Bali: Padang Bai in 1.5 hours with up to 34 departures a day, Nusa Penida in 1.75 hours, Sanur in 3.5 hours, Nusa Lembongan in 2 hours and Serangan in 2.75 hours. Across to Bangsal on Lombok it is 30 minutes, to the neighbouring island of Gili Air only 15 minutes, and to Gili Gede in south-west Lombok 1.5 hours.
Seven of the eight routes run daily; only Gili Gede manages barely two days a week. On Bali the boats serve three different departure points that lie far apart: Padang Bai in the east, Sanur and Serangan in the south. A look at the timetable before you book will save you a long drive across the island.
