Getting there and the terminal
The berth is called Glossa, but it is not in the village. The ships tie up at Loutraki, the harbour settlement in the north-west of Skopelos. The village of Glossa itself stands some 300 metres above the harbour, a good three kilometres away, reached by a surfaced road with many hairpins: five to ten minutes by car, 35 to 40 minutes on foot uphill. If you have booked a room up there, arrange the transfer in advance.
At the quay there is a bus stop and a taxi rank as well as tavernas and cafés. Skopelos Town at the other end of the island is about 40 to 45 minutes away by road, a distance of just under 29 kilometres. If you come from Skiathos, Volos or Agios Konstantinos, Loutraki is your first stop on Skopelos: it pays to be attentive if you actually want to stay on to Skopelos Town.
