Golfo Aranci ferry port lies at the north-eastern tip of Sardinia and, alongside Olbia, is the second point of access to the Costa Smeralda. From here you can reach 4 destinations: Piombino in 6 hours, Livorno in a good 10 hours and, overnight, the French ports of Nice and Toulon, for which you should allow up to 15.25 hours. Together the services run up to 9 departures a day. The port is served by Corsica Ferries.
Getting there and the terminal
Passengers are handled in the refurbished Stazione marittima, which houses the ticket desks, a bar selling tobacco, and the toilets; restaurants and kiosks are immediately next door on the seafront promenade. The railway station at Viale Stazione 10 is about 500 metres away, roughly six minutes on foot, and the stop for the ARST intercity buses is within walking distance as well. By car you approach on the SP82, which links the town with the port of Olbia over a good 22 kilometres.
Check-in
Corsica Ferries requires you to be at check-in an hour before departure with a vehicle, and 30 minutes before at the latest on foot. Anyone arriving late can be refused carriage. Departure times can shift because of the weather; the operator then notifies passengers by text message or email, which is why you should check your inbox again shortly before you set off.
