The ferry port of Gustavia lies in the middle of the capital of Saint-Barthélemy in the Caribbean. From here you can reach Philipsburg on Sint Maarten and Marigot on the French side of Saint-Martin. Together the routes add up to as many as 14 departures a day. Crossings take between 45 minutes and one hour. The port is served by Great Bay Express and Voyager.

Getting there and the terminal

The berth lies in the centre of Gustavia on the harbour basin. Voyager describes its terminal as being immediately next to the taxi rank; shops, restaurants and Shell Beach are about five minutes' walk from there. Parking at the harbour is chargeable. Great Bay Express has its office at the marina of Gustavia.

Check-in

Great Bay Express asks you to check in 45 to 60 minutes before departure. With Voyager, check-in usually opens one hour before departure and must be completed no later than 20 minutes before departure. Both routes cross a state border, so an identity card or passport belongs in your hand luggage. Saint-Barthélemy has its own French entry rules, which you should check before booking.
