Hamilton Island Airport

Airport pier

The ferry port of Hamilton Island Airport is on Hamilton Island in Australia and is the ferry berth of the island airport. From here you can reach Airlie Beach and Daydream Island, and together the routes run up to 20 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 1.25 hours. The port is served by Cruise Whitsundays.

Getting there and the terminal

Boats berth at the Airport Jetty, a separate jetty right by the airport: around 100 metres from the airlines' check-in desks. The way from the baggage belt to the boat is therefore short, and porters carry your luggage between terminal and boat. Do not confuse the jetty with Hamilton Island Marina: Cruise Whitsundays calls at both, but as separate stops. One restriction from the operator matters for your planning: sailings to and from the Airport Jetty are expressly reserved for travellers with a connecting flight. If you are crossing to the island without a flight, use the marina.

Check-in

For Cruise Whitsundays' Resort Connections you should be at check-in 30 minutes before departure. Baggage acceptance closes 15 minutes before departure, and boarding ends five minutes before departure. On the early departures at 7.15 and 8.00 from the Port of Airlie, and on all sailings to and from Shute Harbour, there is no baggage service, so you carry your cases on board yourself.
