The ferry port of Helsingborg lies in Scania at the narrowest point of the Øresund, with the berth in the Söder district right by the centre. From here you can reach Helsingør on the Danish side. A ferry leaves up to 110 times a day, and the crossing takes around 15 minutes. The route is served by Øresundslinjen.
Getting there and the terminal
Vehicles and foot passengers check in at two different addresses. By car you drive to the drive-in lane at Bredgatan 5: leave the motorway at the southern exit for Helsingborg and then follow the port signs to check-in. There are charging points for electric cars at the entrance, and anyone charging there is loaded first; you show the proof of it at the ticket desk.
Foot passengers, by contrast, go to Helsingborg C station, the former Knutpunkten. The terminal, the railway station and the bus station are in the same building, and only a flight of stairs leads up from the platform to check-in. Getting to a ferry is hardly more convenient anywhere. The operator runs a car park of its own only on the Danish side, on Færgevej in Helsingør.
Check-in
The deadlines are as short as the crossing. By car you have to be checked in 10 minutes before your booked departure, or five minutes with a commuter card. On foot, five minutes before departure is likewise enough. With up to 110 departures a day, missing one is no disaster here.
