Heysham ferry port lies in Lancashire in the north-west of England. From here the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company sails to Douglas on the Isle of Man, up to 4 times a day; the crossing takes around 3.75 hours. No other destinations are served from Heysham.

Getting there and the terminal

The Steam Packet passenger terminal is at South Quay, Heysham, LA3 2XE. If you arrive by train you have it easy: the station at the port adjoins the terminal directly, about a minute on foot. The car park next to the terminal is run by the Mersey Docks & Harbour Company and charged by the day. During TT week on the island it operates on a first-come basis and advance booking is not possible.

Check-in

For drivers and their passengers, check-in closes 45 minutes before departure, and for foot passengers 25 minutes. Cyclists report to the vehicle desk. If you are travelling on foot with hand luggage only, you can skip the desk and go straight to security with your booking number or QR code.
