Hydra ferry port lies in the main town of the island of the same name in the Saronic Gulf. From here you can reach 7 destinations, among them Piraeus, Spetses and Poros. Together the connections add up to as many as 69 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 1.5 hours. The port is served by Alpha Lines, Hellenic Seaways and Magic Sea Ferries.

Getting there and the terminal

Hydra is car-free, and that is not a marketing line: vehicles are banned on the island, and there are neither cars nor motorbikes. When you arrive you continue on foot or have your luggage carried by donkey; remote bays can only be reached by water taxi. The town rises from the harbour basin up the slopes like an amphitheatre, yachts and fishing boats lie along the quay, and shops and tavernas stand directly behind. Arriving in your own car is therefore out of the question — you come as a foot passenger or not at all. The fast boats from Athens leave Piraeus from Gate E8.

Check-in

Vehicle handling does not arise here. Hellenic Seaways gives no boarding deadline in minutes, but it does give one for tickets: web check-in is possible from 48 hours until two hours before departure. If you collect paper tickets from a port agency, do so at least two hours before departure.
