Igoumenitsa ferry port is in Epirus in Greece and is the country's Adriatic crossing point: if you drive from Italy to Greece, this is usually where you arrive. From here you can reach 7 destinations, among them Corfu, Lefkimmi and Ancona. Together the services add up to as many as 80 departures a day, most of them on the short route to Corfu. Crossings take between 45 minutes and 26 hours. The port is served by 7 operators, among them Blue Star Ferries, Grimaldi Lines and Kerkyra Lines.
Getting there and the terminal
The Egnatia Odos motorway ends directly in front of the port; an approach does not get any simpler. From the south the coast road runs up to the port entrance, and from the north and from the Albanian border you drive through the town and then along the shore to the passenger terminal. The Italy ferries are handled in the New Port, at terminal T1 on Ioniou Pelagos, close to the town centre.
Check-in
Grimaldi Lines asks you to report to the desk in terminal T1 at least two hours before departure, with or without a vehicle. Allow plenty of time: the port handles around 250,000 lorries a year, and before the evening sailings to Italy lorries and cars share the same ramps.
