The ferry port of Jelsa lies on the north coast of the Dalmatian island of Hvar. From here you can reach Bol and Split. Together the routes add up to as many as 4 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 1.75 hours. The port is served by Krilo Shipping Company.

Getting there and the terminal

The catamarans tie up at the main riva in the middle of town, so you step ashore right in the centre of Jelsa. No terminal building is needed for that: tickets are available online in advance or directly at the berth.

One point matters more than any walking distance: you can only arrive in Jelsa as a foot passenger. Hvar has two ferry ports for vehicles, Stari Grad and Sucuraj, and only those two can bring a car to the island. If you want to take your car, book the car ferry to Stari Grad and drive on overland to Jelsa from there. Island bus services are run by Cazmatrans, based in Stari Grad; the timetables cover the Jelsa - Stari Grad route among others.

As a foot passenger you have a choice of two catamaran ports on Hvar, Jelsa and Hvar town. Check before booking which of them lies closer to where you are staying.
