Ferries to Karlovassi

Alongside Vathi, Karlovassi is the second ferry port on Samos in the northern Aegean. Eleven destinations are served, and the range is considerable: Vathi and Fournoi are 45 minutes away, Ikaria's two ports a good one to one and a half hours, Mykonos just under four hours, Piraeus eight and a half, and Kavala in northern Greece a good 16 hours. Together the connections add up to as many as 22 departures a day. The port is served by Hellenic Seaways.

Check-in

Hellenic Seaways' conditions of carriage require you to be at the boarding area at least one hour before departure, with a vehicle as well as on foot. Drivers take their vehicle on and off the ship themselves; passengers get out before loading. The local port authority decides the order in which vehicles board. Have your ticket and ID to hand when boarding, and give the boarding card you are issued to the purser on board. If you decide against travelling once the ship has cast off, you cannot get off again: leaving the ship before departure is only permitted with the consent of the ship's command.
