The ferry port of Karlshamn is on the Baltic coast in the Swedish province of Blekinge and is Sweden's bridge to the Baltic states. From here you can reach Klaipeda and Travemünde. Together the services add up to as many as 7 departures a day, and crossings take between 14 and 14.25 hours. The port is served by DFDS and TT-Line.

Getting there and the terminal

DFDS describes the approach via Karlshamn Västra towards Karlshamns Hamnar: at the first roundabout take the second exit, follow the road for 1.3 kilometres, turn right onto Munkahusvägen and after 630 metres right again onto Öresundsvägen. With a vehicle you drive straight to the barrier and enter or scan your booking number there; travel documents are checked at the check-in desk. Without a vehicle you go into the terminal building on the left, and a shuttle bus takes you to the ferry and back. You can park free of charge in front of the passenger terminal for up to seven days. You collect the parking permit at the check-in office, and no reservation is needed.

Check-in

For the sailings to Klaipeda, DFDS opens check-in four hours before departure and closes it 90 minutes before. That deadline applies to all travellers, with or without a vehicle.
