The ferry port of Kristiansand lies in the middle of the town on Norway's southern coast. From here you can reach Hirtshals, Bergen and Stavanger. Together the services add up to as many as 18 departures a day. Crossings take between 3.25 and 22.5 hours. The port is served by Color Line and Fjord Line.

Getting there and the terminal

Both operators berth in the centre, only a few minutes' walk apart: Color Line at Havnegata 47 and Fjord Line at the ferry terminal at Vestre Strandgate 31. By car you follow the E39 and the signs towards Denmark. The railway station and the bus station are around 50 metres from the Fjord Line terminal, with the taxi rank right beside them. There is no parking on the site of the Color Line terminal; the nearest car park is about 400 metres away. Next to the Fjord Line terminal you may only stand for half an hour, short-stay parking is possible opposite, and for long-stay parking the operator points to the multi-storey car parks in the centre.

Check-in

Both operators expect you at the terminal at the latest 60 minutes before departure. At Fjord Line, boarding starts at least 30 minutes before sailing.
