- Telaga Harbour International Terminal, Lot 1 Telaga Harbour Park, Pantai Kok, 07000 Langkawi
Langkawi ferry port is on Langkawi in Malaysia. From here you can reach 10 destinations, among them Koh Lipe, Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi. Together the services add up to as many as 15 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.5 and 9.5 hours. The port is served by Satun Pakbara Speed Boat Club.
Getting there and the terminal
The berth belongs to the Telaga Harbour marina at Pantai Kok in the west of Langkawi, address Lot 1, Telaga Harbour Park, 07000 Langkawi. That puts it on the opposite side of the island from the main town, Kuah: the terminal operator allows 30 to 35 minutes by car from Kuah Jetty and 15 to 20 minutes from Langkawi airport. If you are staying in the south of the island, budget for that drive.
Passengers are processed at Telaga Harbour International Terminal, a border post in its own right with customs, immigration and quarantine. You clear out of Malaysia here at the terminal; you enter Thailand only on arrival at Koh Lipe, where the boats land on the beach. The marina gives the distance as 42 kilometres. The season matters: the terminal operator runs from October to May and stops during the monsoon between June and September.
Check-in
The counter opens two hours before departure and closes 30 minutes before departure; arrive later and you can be refused carriage. Border control has to fit inside those two hours.
