Getting there and the terminal
Lavik belongs to the municipality of Høyanger in Vestland and lies on the E39, the coastal road between Bergen and the north-west. The quay is on the edge of the village, a few hundred metres from the centre. Besides the express boats into the Sognefjord, the E39 car ferry to Oppedal leaves from here: Norled runs it as route 1046 around the clock, at night as well, and the crossing takes about 20 minutes. The vessels in service are the "Oppedal", the "Ampere" and the "Stavanger", each with room for 120 vehicles and 350 passengers.
Check-in
There is no check-in desk, and the express boats are handled at the quay. Norled recommends booking the ticket in advance; the note appears in the timetable for route 23501 Bergen - Sogn - Flåm, which calls at Lavik. Be at the quay in good time: the stop lasts only a few minutes, and the boat does not wait. From Bergen it leaves Strandkaiterminalen in the morning and reaches Lavik around midday.
