Lavrio ferry port is on the east coast of Attica and, alongside Piraeus and Rafina, is one of the Athens ports for the Aegean. From here you can reach 18 destinations, among them Kea, Kythnos and Agios Efstratios, plus Serifos, Sifnos, Kimolos, Syros, Andros and Folegandros as well as Lemnos and Kavala in the north. Together the services add up to as many as 32 departures a day, and crossings take between one hour and 16.75 hours. The port is served by Hellenic Seaways, Magic Sea Ferries, SeaJets and Triton Ferries.
Getting there and the terminal
The port administration is on Akti Andrea Papandreou, the waterfront road inside the port area of Lavrio. The passenger terminal has been made step-free: ramps throughout the building, accessible toilets, designated disabled parking bays and a lift to the second floor; the covered waiting area for ferry passengers and the ticket hall have ramps too. By its own account, the port has no dedicated reporting point for travellers with disabilities and no free assistance service. So if you need help, it is better to contact the operator in advance.
Check-in
Hellenic Seaways asks you to be in the boarding area at least one hour before departure; vehicles must be in the waiting area at the same time, and otherwise by the time the port regulations set. If you miss the departure, the fare is not refunded.
