Le Havre ferry port lies in Normandy where the Seine flows into the English Channel. From here you can reach Portsmouth on the south coast of England. There are up to 2 departures a day to choose from, running on almost every day of the week. The crossing takes around 6.5 hours. The port is served by Brittany Ferries.

Getting there and the terminal

By car the route runs on the A13/E5, the Autoroute de Normandie, then onto the A131/E5 and from there you follow the signs. The port car park takes both short-stay and long-stay vehicles, but has only limited space. Disabled parking spaces directly in front of the Gare Maritime are currently unavailable. Without a car you reach the ship on the LiA city network: route C4 links the "Gares" stop on the Cours Lafayette in front of the SNCF station with the "St-François" stop on the Rue du Général Faidherbe near the Gare Maritime. Brittany Ferries describes the service as frequent and quick.

Check-in

To board you have to be at the terminal at least 45 minutes before departure. If you are travelling with a pet, Brittany Ferries requires considerably more lead time: at least 90 minutes before departure. Count that deadline back from the departure time and not from your arrival in the city, because the way from the station to the terminal is part of it.
