Leikanger ferry port is in Norway. From here you can reach 12 destinations, among them Balestrand, Bergen and Lavik. Together the services run up to 37 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 4.25 hours. The port is served by Norled.
Getting there and the terminal
This is Leikanger on the Sognefjord, which has grown together with Hermansverk and has belonged to the municipality of Sogndal since 2020. There is scope for confusion: a second Leikanger lies in Stad municipality, a good 150 kilometres further to the north-west. The express boat to and from Bergen stops at the quay by the Leikanger Fjordhotel. By car it is about 25 minutes to Sogndal and the same to Balestrand; the nearest car ferry berth is Hella, about twelve minutes away, from where boats run to Dragsvik and Vangsnes. The municipal quay is 45 metres long and, after an inspection, has been downgraded to four tonnes axle load; freight is no longer handled here.
Check-in
There is no terminal building with desks, and you board at the quay. For route 23501 Bergen - Sogn - Flåm, Norled recommends booking the ticket in advance. Be at the berth a few minutes before the scheduled time: the boats stop only briefly.
