The ferry port of Lemnos is near Myrina on the west coast of the island, which belongs to the north-western Aegean. It is the island's way in and out: from here you can reach 17 destinations, among them Agios Efstratios, Agios Kirikos and Alexandroupoli. Together the services add up to as many as 32 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.25 and 21.75 hours, depending on whether you are going to neighbouring Agios Efstratios or right across the Aegean to Ikaria, Samos or Patmos. The routes to the mainland run to Kavala, Alexandroupoli and Lavrio near Athens. The port is served by Cyclades Fast Ferries, Hellenic Seaways and SeaJets.
Getting there and the terminal
The berth is not in the middle of town but around 1.5 kilometres from the centre of Myrina. Two berths totalling 150 metres in length take the ships, along with a passenger terminal and a taxi rank, and the port operates around the clock. The island's airport is about 20 kilometres away.
Check-in
Hellenic Seaways asks you to be in the boarding area at least one hour before departure, with a vehicle as well as on foot. Tickets are not issued on board, so you need them beforehand.
