The ferry port of Leros lies on the Dodecanese island of the same name in the Aegean, between Patmos to the north and Kalymnos to the south. From here you can reach 22 destinations, among them Bodrum, Kalymnos and Kos. Together the services add up to as many as 56 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 21.75 hours. 5 operators call at the port, among them Blue Star Ferries, Dodekanisos Seaways and Hellenic Seaways.
That makes Leros one of the best connected ports in the Dodecanese. The neighbouring islands lie close together: Lipsi takes a quarter of an hour, Kalymnos and Patmos about 45 minutes each, Kos an hour and a half. Rhodes is a good three and a half hours away, and Bodrum in Turkey one hour. If you only want to go one island further, there are several departures almost every day.
Check-in
Blue Star Ferries requires you to be in the boarding area at least one hour before departure, whether you are travelling with a vehicle or on foot. Drivers take their vehicle on board themselves; the passengers with them get out beforehand and walk onto the ship. The loading order follows the rules of the port in question.
