The ferry port of Lipari is at the main town of the largest of the Aeolian Islands, north of Sicily. From here you can reach 14 destinations, among them Vulcano, Milazzo and Salina. Together the services add up to as many as 234 departures a day; that makes Lipari the hub of the archipelago, and Alicudi, Filicudi, Panarea and Stromboli are served from here as well. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 13.5 hours, with the night sailing to Naples covering the longest distance. The port is served by Liberty Lines, Siremar and SNAV.

Getting there and the terminal

Traffic runs through Marina Lunga, the town's commercial harbour. The ferries of Caronte & Tourist Isole Minori, which trade under the Siremar name, tie up at Banchina Sottomonastero; the desk there is run by the Eol Travel agency in the Stazione Porto di Lipari. Liberty Lines also has its hydrofoil terminal at Sottomonastero, at Porto Marina Lunga. It is open Monday to Friday from 05:00 to 20:30, on Saturdays from 05:45 and on Sundays from 06:00.

Check-in

Liberty Lines asks you to be at the berth at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure with a valid ticket and ID; on international routes it is 45 minutes. Luggage is stowed in the areas provided and handed back only when you disembark.
