Lipsi ferry port is on Lipsi in the Dodecanese, at the island's main village. From here you can reach 18 destinations, among them Kalymnos, Kos and Leros. Together the services run up to 48 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 12.75 hours. The port is served by Blue Star Ferries, Dodekanisos Seaways, Hellenic Seaways and SAOS Ferries.
For an island of this size that is a surprisingly dense network, and it falls into two halves. Leros and Patmos are each a quarter of an hour away, Agathonisi and Arki half an hour: these are day trips, run by the fast boats that shuttle from island to island in the Dodecanese. On the other side are the long runs towards Rhodes, Symi and Astypalea, which take three to four hours, and individual services that need almost a whole day at up to 12.75 hours.
Five of the 18 services run only seasonally. In winter the timetable therefore shrinks noticeably and the choice is limited to the neighbouring islands. If you are travelling outside the season, it is better to check the timetable for your specific day.
