Lymington Ferry Port, Undershore Road, Lymington SO41 5SB
Location
Boldre, New Forest, Hampshire, England

The ferry port of Lymington lies on the south coast of England in Hampshire, on the edge of the New Forest and at the end of a narrow creek leading to the Solent. From here you can reach Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight, up to 32 times a day, and the crossing takes around 45 minutes. The route is operated by Wightlink. It is the westernmost of the Solent car ferries and the shortest way to the island for travellers coming from Bournemouth and Dorset.

Getting there and the terminal

The port is on Undershore Road, SO41 5SB. Arriving by train is straightforward: a regular service runs from Brockenhurst on the South Western Railway main line directly to Lymington Pier, and that station sits immediately next to the port. Wightlink keeps more than 200 car parking spaces, plus dedicated bays for motorcycles and a rapid charging point for electric cars. You pay by app or at the card machine, and there are 30-day season tickets for frequent travellers. Vehicles report at the kiosk and then join their allocated lane. Foot passengers walk through the Curlew Café to the boarding tunnel.

Check-in

Wightlink closes check-in 30 minutes before departure for vehicles and 15 minutes before departure for foot passengers.
