Terminal Maritimo de Passageiros do Porto Exterior, Largo do Terminal Maritimo

The ferry port of Macau lies in the Macau Special Administrative Region. From here you can reach Hong Kong and Shenzhen Airport. Together the routes add up to as many as 58 departures a day. The crossing takes around one hour. The port is served by Cotai Water Jet and TurboJet.

Getting there and the terminal

Macau has two ferry terminals, and they lie far apart. The Outer Harbour, in Portuguese Terminal Marítimo de Passageiros do Porto Exterior, has the address Largo do Terminal Marítimo and sits on the Macau peninsula. Buses and taxis stop in front of the building and will get you into the centre in a few minutes, and most hotels run free shuttle buses to the terminal. Macau airport is about ten minutes away by car. Inside the building, arrivals are on the first floor, departures on the second, and shops and waiting areas on the third.

Check which terminal is printed on your ticket before you travel: TurboJET moved the Shenzhen airport service to the Taipa terminal on 15 June 2026, and Cotai Water Jet only calls at Taipa in Macau anyway.

Check-in

TurboJET asks you to be at the boarding point no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure so that staff can check your travel documents. Allow extra time for immigration and customs: the trip to Hong Kong or to mainland China means crossing a border, so a valid travel document is compulsory.
