- Resortanleger auf Nanuya Balavu (Yasawa-Gruppe); Abfertigung im Passagierterminal Port Denarau
The ferry port of Manta Ray Island Resort is in Fiji. From here you reach Denarau. A ferry leaves up to 2 times a day. The crossing takes around 2.75 hours. The port is served by South Sea Cruises.
Getting there and the terminal
The name hides neither a town nor a ferry port in the usual sense, but a resort on the island of Nanuya Balavu in the Yasawa group in north-western Fiji. All sailings begin and end at the other side, at Port Denarau near Nadi. South Sea Cruises has its own desk in the marina's passenger terminal there.
What matters is what happens at the destination end: most resorts in the Yasawa and Mamanuca islands have no pier for the catamaran to tie up at. The ship stops off the island, a small tender from the resort comes out and takes over guests and luggage. Wet feet come with it, and a waterproof cover is worth having for delicate luggage.
Check-in
South Sea Cruises requires check-in at its own desk in the Port Denarau terminal, 30 minutes before the ship departs. Work backwards from that if you are arriving from the airport on the same day.
