Marettimo ferry port is on the westernmost and remotest of the Aegadian Islands, around 20 nautical miles off Trapani. From here you can reach Favignana and Levanzo in half an hour each, as well as Trapani and Marsala on Sicily. Together the services add up to as many as 53 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours. The port is served by Liberty Lines and Siremar.
Getting there and the terminal
The quay is right beside the island's only village, so you carry on from the boat on foot. Liberty Lines describes Marettimo as the most distant of the Aegadian Islands: around 680 inhabitants on 12.3 square kilometres, behind them the 686-metre Monte Falcone, the cliffs with their grottoes and the castle on Punta Troia. There is no journey to the port to organise on the island, but there is one back: the timetable is the only way to return to Sicily.
Check-in
In its conditions of carriage for the fast boats, Liberty Lines requires you to present yourself for boarding at least 60 minutes before the scheduled departure. Arrive later and you have no right to be carried.
