The ferry port of Mathraki lies on the island of the same name in the Ionian Sea, the smallest of the Diapontia Islands north-west of Corfu. From here you can reach Ereikoussa, Corfu and Othoni. Together the services add up to as many as 6 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 3.25 hours. The port is served by Kerkyra Lines.
Getting there and the terminal
Mathraki lies 36 nautical miles from Corfu and has two berths. The one the scheduled boats use belongs to the settlement of Plaka in the east of the island, right next to the long sandy beach of Portello with its shallow water. In the west there is a second, smaller berth at Apidia. When you book, and when you arrange to be met, check which of the two is meant.
Kerkyra Lines serves the Diapontia Islands with the boat Evdokia. The trip from Corfu calls at Ereikoussa before reaching Mathraki. Between the three islands of Othoni, Ereikoussa and Mathraki the crossing takes only half an hour each time, so they combine well. On Mathraki itself, footpaths lead to the small settlements and the beaches, among them Arvanitiko beach.
