Murano ferry port is in the Veneto in Italy. The berth lies in the Venezia-Murano-Burano district. From here you can reach Burano, Torcello and Venice San Marco. Together the services run up to 9 departures a day. The crossing takes around 30 minutes. The port is served by Consorzio Vidali Group.
Getting there and the terminal
Murano does not have a single ferry stop but a whole series of them, and which one is right depends on where on the island you are going. The Actv timetable lists Colonna, Serenella, Navagero, Museo, Faro, Venier and Da Mula. Line 4.2 calls at them in turn and connects Murano with Fondamente Nove, San Zaccaria, the Giudecca, Piazzale Roma and the railway station; the Cimitero stop at the cemetery island of San Michele is on the same route. Colonna is the first stop coming from Venice, Museo is at the glass museum and Faro at the lighthouse.
To carry on into the northern lagoon you need Murano Faro. Line 12 stops there, running from Fondamente Nove via Mazzorbo to Burano and on to Treporti and Punta Sabbioni; from Fondamente Nove to Faro takes a good eight minutes. On this line Torcello is served on request only, and if you want to board there you have to phone at least 20 minutes ahead. None of the stops has a terminal building with desks, so you wait on the pontoon.
