Nabua Lodge is not a port town but a stop on the Yasawa Flyer route in Fiji, named after the accommodation it serves. From here you reach Denarau. A ferry leaves up to 2 times a day and the crossing takes around 4.25 hours. The stop is served by South Sea Cruises.
Getting there and the terminal
There is no terminal in the usual sense here, and usually no pier either. According to the operator, most resorts along the Yasawa chain have no pier access; the transfer from ship to shore is handled by small motorboats that come out to meet the Yasawa Flyer and set guests down directly on the beach. Wet feet come with it, which is why South Sea Cruises advises shoes you can slip off quickly. Heavy wheeled luggage is best left behind in these conditions.
Check-in
The actual handling takes place at the other end of the route. If you board at Port Denarau, you report to the South Sea Cruises desk in the passenger terminal there, 30 minutes before departure. The Yasawa Flyer leaves Denarau at 8:45 am and then works its way north through the island chain. The luggage allowance is 7 kilograms of hand luggage and 25 kilograms of hold luggage; surfboards and similar oversized items cost extra.
