Nantucket ferry port is on the island of Nantucket in the United States, off Cape Cod. From here you can reach Hyannis, Harwich MA and Oak Bluffs. Together the services run up to 30 departures a day. Crossings take between one hour and 1.25 hours. The port is served by Freedom Cruise Line and Hy-Line Cruises.
Getting there and the terminal
Both operators dock at Straight Wharf in the centre of Nantucket Town. Hy-Line Cruises has its ticket office at 34 Straight Wharf, Nantucket MA 02554.
On the mainland side, Freedom Cruise Line sails not from Hyannis but from Saquatucket Harbor in Harwich Port, 731 Route 28. Parking there is free for day visitors, and the operator's own lot is available overnight; the operator gives the crossing as under 80 minutes.
Check-in
The strictest rules come from Hy-Line Cruises. With a reservation you should be there 30 to 45 minutes before departure, and a full hour if you have luggage, children or bicycles with you. Reserved tickets have to be collected at the desk no later than 30 minutes before departure. And if you are neither on board nor checked in and queuing 15 minutes before departure, expect your place to go to standby passengers.
