Nanuya Island Resort is not a port town but a stop on the Yasawa Flyer route in Fiji. It lies on the island of Nanuya Lailai in the Blue Lagoon area, right at the northern end of the Yasawa chain. From here you reach Denarau. A ferry leaves up to 2 times a day and the crossing takes around 4.25 hours. The stop is served by South Sea Cruises.
Getting there and the terminal
Nanuya Lailai is one of the northernmost stops on the route, so the ship arrives correspondingly late in the day: the Yasawa Flyer leaves Port Denarau at 8:45 am and is at the resort at about 1:45 pm. There is no ferry terminal. According to the operator, most resorts along the chain have no pier access, so small motorboats come out to meet the ship and bring guests to the beach. You may get wet up to the ankles in the process, which is why South Sea Cruises recommends shoes that slip off easily.
Check-in
Check-in happens on the mainland: at the South Sea Cruises desk in the Port Denarau passenger terminal, 30 minutes before departure. The allowance is 7 kilograms of hand luggage and 25 kilograms of hold luggage; surfboards and other oversized items cost extra.
