Naqalia Lodge is not a port town but a stop on the Yasawa Flyer route in Fiji, named after the accommodation it serves. From here you reach Denarau. A ferry leaves up to 2 times a day and the crossing takes around 1.75 hours. That makes it one of the first calls on the way north. It is served by South Sea Cruises.
Getting there and the terminal
There is no ferry terminal here, and as a rule no pier either. According to the operator, most resorts along the Yasawa chain have no pier access; small motorboats come out to meet the Yasawa Flyer, take the guests on board and set them down directly on the beach. Wet feet are part of the plan, so South Sea Cruises advises shoes you can slip off quickly. Heavy wheeled luggage is impractical with this kind of transfer.
Check-in
Handling takes place on the mainland side: at the South Sea Cruises desk in the Port Denarau passenger terminal, 30 minutes before departure. The Yasawa Flyer leaves there at 8:45 am. The allowance is 7 kilograms of hand luggage and 25 kilograms of hold luggage; surfboards and other oversized items cost extra. In the other direction the same tender picks you up from the beach and takes you out to the ship.
