Hafen Nasipit (PPA-Baseport), Provinz Agusan del Norte

Nasipit ferry port lies in the north-east of Mindanao and is the sea access to the Caraga region. From here you can reach Manila and Siargao. Together the services run up to 3 departures a day, and crossings take between 6.5 and 38.5 hours - the trip to Manila is a night and a day at sea, not a hop. The port is served by 2GO Travel.

Getting there and the terminal

Do not assign the port to the city it is often sold under: the berth is in the harbour town of Nasipit, around 27 kilometres west of the centre of Butuan City. Coming from Butuan you still have an overland journey ahead of you. The reverse applies too: do not get off the bus in Butuan if your ship is lying in Nasipit.

Check-in

2GO Travel sets its deadline unusually early and means it: you should be at the desk at least four hours before departure. The boarding gates close one hour before the scheduled departure. You have to bring a printed ticket and government-issued photo ID; the terminal fee may be payable at check-in. If you are travelling from Butuan, allow generous time for the overland leg, or the four-hour rule turns into a tight calculation.
