Nice ferry port is in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in France and is the westernmost of the large Corsica ports. From here you can reach 7 destinations, among them Ajaccio, Bastia and Golfo Aranci. Together the services add up to as many as 14 departures a day. Crossings take between 6.25 and 13 hours, so they are day or night passages to Corsica and Sardinia. The port is served by Corsica Ferries.

Getting there and the terminal

Ferries leave from Terminal 1 in the Port de Commerce, address 06300 Nice. By car, from the west take the A8 to exit 50 "Promenade des Anglais", and from Italy exit 55 "Nice Est"; the port operator recommends the eastern entrance "Deux Emmanuel", which is easier to reach than the western "Robilante". Without a car it is simpler still: tram L2 runs from the airport to the Port Lympia stop and tram L1 from the city centre to Garibaldi, and bus routes 98, 57, 38 and LR100 stop at the port. The Port Lympia car park is right by the berths.

Check-in

The port operator states three hours before the scheduled departure for vehicles, while Corsica Ferries itself states at least one hour; on foot, both give 30 minutes at the latest. Go by the stricter figure, because anyone turning up after the time shown on the ticket loses the right to travel. Foot passengers and travellers with reduced mobility use the free shuttle at the port entrance.
