Oak Bluffs ferry port is on Martha's Vineyard in the United States, off the south coast of Cape Cod. From here you can reach Falmouth, Hyannis and Nantucket. Together the services run up to 32 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 1.25 hours. The port is served by Hy-Line Cruises and Island Queen.
Getting there and the terminal
The two operators dock at the same end of the harbour, only a few steps apart. Hy-Line Cruises uses the Dockside Marina on Circuit Avenue Extension, where its ticket office is at number 12. The Island Queen from Falmouth ties up at the corner of Circuit Avenue Extension and Seaview Avenue Extension, diagonally opposite Anderson's Bike Rentals. From either berth it is a few minutes' walk into the village centre.
Check-in
The strictest deadline comes from Island Queen: if you are not checked in 15 minutes before departure, expect your place to be given away. The operator asks you to be there 30 minutes ahead, because that is also when vehicles are parked and passengers dropped off. Hy-Line Cruises advises 30 to 45 minutes with a reservation, and a full hour with luggage, children or a bicycle. Bicycles and surfboards cost extra there and have to be booked in advance.
