Tenderboot-Anleger Octopus Resort, Waya (Yasawa-Gruppe)

The ferry port of Octopus Resort lies in Fiji, on the island of Waya in the Yasawa group. From here you reach Denarau. A ferry leaves up to 2 times a day. The crossing takes around 2.25 hours. The port is served by South Sea Cruises.

Getting there and the terminal

Waya lies 27 nautical miles from the Fijian mainland. The resort has no ferry quay. South Sea Cruises itself points out that most resorts along the chain have no pier and that the transfer from the catamaran to shore is made in small tenders, in the course of which your feet can get wet. Sturdy shoes and waterproof luggage are more practical here than wheeled suitcases.

At the mainland end the Yasawa Flyer leaves Port Denarau at 8:45 am. Alongside this the resort runs its own boat, the 40-seat Finnoki Kai, which departs from Naisoso Marina five minutes from Nadi airport: daily at 9 am and 3 pm, with a journey time of a good hour and fifteen minutes. This service is not in the ferry timetable.

Check-in

For the Yasawa Flyer you check in at the South Sea Cruises desk in the Port Denarau terminal, no later than 30 minutes before departure.
