The ferry port of Oskarshamn lies on the Swedish Baltic coast in Kalmar county, with the berth in the Kristineberg district. From here you reach Visby on Gotland. A ferry leaves up to 4 times a day and the crossing takes around 3 hours. The port is served by Destination Gotland.

Getting there and the terminal

The terminal building is called Gotlandsterminalen and is at Verkstadsgatan 1, 572 35 Oskarshamn. That is where you go as a foot passenger. With a car you do not drive there but to the vehicle check-in on Sjösättningsgatan; the two addresses are only a few hundred metres apart but are separate entrances.

If you leave the car behind and cross to Gotland without it, there are four long-stay car parks near the terminal, two of them fenced and two open. The fenced areas are accessible between 7 am and 10 pm, adjusted to the sailing times at the edges of the day. A vehicle may not stand there for longer than 28 days.

Check-in

Access to the ferries opens no later than 1 hour and 30 minutes before departure and closes 20 minutes before departure. This window applies to foot passengers and drivers alike. You receive your boarding card code in advance by SMS or email and scan it at the entrance; in a car every passenger shows their own. If you need assistance, be at the designated meeting point no later than 60 minutes before departure.
