The ferry port of Paldiski lies around 45 kilometres west of Tallinn on Estonia's north-western coast. From here you reach Kapellskär in Sweden: on average two and a half ferries a day depart, and the crossing over the Baltic takes around 10 hours. The port is served by DFDS and by Tallink & Silja Line.
Getting there and the terminal
DFDS checks in at the northern harbour of Paldiski, at Peetri 11. The terminal is sparsely equipped: a car park, toilets, a public transport connection. Parking is short-stay only; the port is not set up for longer stays. The second part of the port, the southern harbour run by Tallinna Sadam, has its own passenger terminal but mainly serves ro-ro traffic as well as scrap, timber, peat and oil products. So check before you set off which part of the port your operator uses.
Check-in
DFDS closes check-in for the Paldiski - Kapellskär route 60 minutes before the scheduled departure.
