The ferry port of Panormitis is on Symi in the Dodecanese. From here you can reach 5 destinations: the main town of Symi in half an hour, Kos in 1.25 hours, Kalymnos in two hours and Rhodes and Leros in 2.25 hours each. Together the services add up to as many as 15 departures a day, one of them only in season. The port is served by Dodekanisos Seaways.
Getting there and the terminal
Panormitis is not a village in the usual sense but a small bay on the south-west coast of Symi, and the berth belongs to the monastery of the Archangel Michael, which stands right on the water. So if you are staying in the main town of Gialos and want to sail from here, you first have to cross the island: a road leads from Gialos through pine woods to Panormitis. In the other direction, many travellers on day trips land at the monastery and never see the main town at all. Count the overland leg between Gialos and the bay into your timings; it is not a stroll.
