The ferry port of Pantelleria is at the main town of the island of the same name, which belongs to the Sicilian province of Trapani and lies in the Mediterranean between Sicily and the Tunisian coast. One single route leads from the port to the mainland: to Trapani, seven days a week and with up to 4 departures a day. The crossing takes around 2.5 hours. The route is served by Liberty Lines with hydrofoils and by Siremar, whose services now run through Caronte & Tourist Isole Minori and Liberty Lines. Because there is no alternative, the timetable decides your whole journey: miss the departure and only the island's airport is left.
Getting there and the terminal
Liberty Lines gives its point of contact on Pantelleria as the desk at Via Borgo Italia 5, open daily from 6.30 to 12.00, from 15.00 to 17.00 and from 17.30 to 23.00. That is also where you buy your ticket in person if you have not booked online.
Check-in
On domestic routes Liberty Lines requires you to be at the berth with a valid ticket and ID at least 15 minutes before scheduled departure. Anyone arriving later has, according to the operator, no further claim to travel.
