The ferry port of Plymouth lies in Devon in south-west England, where the Plym and the Tamar flow into the English Channel. From here you can reach Roscoff, Santander and Saint-Malo. Together the services add up to as many as 5 departures a day. Crossings take between 6.75 and 21.75 hours. The port is served by Brittany Ferries. The shortest crossing is to Roscoff in Brittany, the longest to Santander on the north coast of Spain.
Getting there and the terminal
Ships leave from Plymouth International Port. From the Exeter direction you follow the A38 south-west, leave it at the A374 and follow the signs to the Continental Ferry Port. From the city centre it is about 15 minutes on foot, from Plymouth station 30 to 35 minutes; trains from London Paddington take three to four hours. The car park at the port is run by an operator, and for stays of more than seven days payment is handled through an app. Foot passengers board from the terminal building via a gangway.
Check-in
Brittany Ferries expects you at check-in at least 45 minutes before departure. If you are travelling with a dog or a cat, you have to be there 90 minutes beforehand.
