Poreč lies on the west coast of Istria, with the old town pushing out to sea as a narrow peninsula. From here you can reach Trieste in 1.75 hours and Venice in a good 3 hours. Together the routes add up to as many as 5 departures a day. The port is served by Kompas and Liberty Lines, both of which run seasonally and on only a few days of the week.

Getting there and the terminal

The fast boats tie up at the waterfront promenade below the old town. In Poreč, Liberty Lines leaves sales and check-in to the Sunny Way agency at Obala Maršala Tita 16; its Riva office is next door at number 17, in the port authority building. Outside the season the desks are closed.

If you are driving, the largest multi-storey car park in town is the most reliable address: it lies in the centre by the farmers' market and has 750 spaces. There is another car park at the marina of Poreč. In the old town itself, paid short-stay parking applies in three zones, payable at the machine or by text message.

Check-in

On international routes, Liberty Lines requires you to arrive at least 45 minutes before departure so that border and check-in formalities can be completed. Poreč is only ever served across a border, which is why that deadline applies here.
