Getting there and the terminal
Poros is the Saronic port you can also reach by road: the mainland village of Galatas lies opposite, five minutes away across the water. In season the ferry runs every half hour, from Galatas on the hour and the half hour, from Poros at :10 and :40, from about 6:30 in the morning until late evening. There are also water taxis around the clock, which cast off no later than ten minutes after the first passenger. From Athens you take the national road towards Corinth, continue towards Epidaurus and take the Poros-Spetses-Galatas-Trachia exit; the municipality reckons on around half an hour from there to the ferries in Galatas. On the island itself there is a municipal bus, and the taxis wait on the waterfront road in the centre.
