Porto Torres ferry port is on the north-west coast of Sardinia in the province of Sassari and is the second-largest passenger port on the island. From here you can reach 9 destinations, among them Genoa, Ajaccio and Barcelona. Together the services add up to as many as 19 departures a day. Crossings take between 3.75 and 19.5 hours. The port is served by 5 operators, among them Corsica Ferries, Delcomar and Grandi Navi Veloci.

Getting there and the terminal

The Stazione Marittima is at Via Antonietta Bassu 6, around 100 metres from Porto Torres Marittima station, and since its rebuilding it has been the central interchange for passengers. Ticket desks, a bar and waiting rooms are housed there. By car, the E25, SS729 and SS597 lead to the port; regional ARST buses stop on Via Mare by the marina, and there is a car park at the station. A free port shuttle runs from the terminal to the ships' berths: it starts about an hour before each departure and runs roughly every 20 minutes.

Check-in

The strictest is Grandi Navi Veloci: at the port two hours before departure with a vehicle, at least 30 minutes on foot, and check-in closes 45 minutes before departure. Corsica Ferries requires one hour with a vehicle and 30 minutes on foot. Factor the shuttle into your timings.
