Ferries to Porto Vecchio

The ferry port of Porto Vecchio lies on Corsica in France, in the south of the island at the head of the gulf of the same name. From here you can reach 4 destinations, among them Marseille, Nice and Toulon. Together the services add up to as many as 7 departures a day. Crossings take between 4.75 and 14 hours. The port is served by Corsica Ferries and La Meridionale. If you are heading for the south-east of Corsica you are quickly at your destination from here: La Méridionale reckons on half an hour's drive to Bonifacio.

Getting there and the terminal

The passenger terminal is on Quai de Syracuse in 20137 Porto-Vecchio, between the citadel and the salt pans. La Méridionale describes it as reachable by car, by public transport and on foot from the centre. A free electric shuttle links the town centre with the terminal all year round.

From Bastia you drive on the T10 towards Centre-ville, take the Ports exit at the roundabout, follow the Départementale 368, turn left after the marina and drive to the end of the quay. The operator gives journey times of around two and a half hours from Bastia and from Ajaccio, an hour and a half from Propriano and half an hour from Bonifacio. In summer some streets in the old town are closed, so allow yourself a buffer.

Check-in

La Méridionale requires foot passengers to be at the port at the latest one hour before departure and vehicles at the latest an hour and a half before. Corsica Ferries sets one hour for vehicles and 30 minutes for passengers without a vehicle, but likewise recommends an hour and a half in high season.
