Positano ferry port is in Campania on the Amalfi Coast. From here you can reach 17 destinations, among them Amalfi, Sorrento and Salerno. Together the services add up to as many as 309 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 3 hours. The port is served by 12 operators, among them Alicost, Alilauro Gruson and Capitan Morgan. Amalfi is 15 minutes away, Capri half an hour, Sorrento 45 minutes. The coast road is narrow and busy in summer, which often makes the boat the more reliable connection.
Getting there and the terminal
Ships tie up at the Molo on the Spiaggia Grande, in the middle of the village. From Naples, the fast boats to Positano leave from Molo Beverello, the central terminal for the fast services. It is around two kilometres from Napoli Centrale station, and you can walk or take a taxi, bus or metro; from Naples airport, reckon on 20 to 30 minutes.
Check-in
Positano Jet asks you to be at the berth at least 30 minutes before departure. Travelmar requires holders of pre-booked tickets to be at the boarding point 15 minutes before the scheduled departure, otherwise the place is no longer guaranteed. Stick to the 30 minutes and you cover both.
