The ferry port of Pozzallo in the Sicilian province of Ragusa is the crossing point from Sicily to Malta. From here you reach Valletta in around 1.75 hours, daily and up to 12 times a day. The port is served by Virtu Ferries.
Getting there and the terminal
The port lies just under two kilometres from the town centre, on the edge of Pozzallo. The Virtu Ferries booking office in town has the address Largo dei Vespri Siciliani 70, 97016 Pozzallo, and opens seasonally. Check-in itself takes place at the terminal in the port, not at the office.
Check-in
Virtu Ferries opens check-in two hours before the scheduled departure and closes it 30 minutes beforehand. As a foot passenger you should be at the terminal one hour before departure. With a vehicle a stricter rule applies: car and passengers have to be at the terminal 90 minutes before departure. Build that lead time into your day from the start, not on the day of travel itself.
