The ferry port of Praia da Vitória lies on Terceira in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. From here you can reach 4 destinations on the neighbouring islands: Vila da Praia on Graciosa, Velas on São Jorge, Sao Roque on Pico and Horta on Faial. Crossings take between 3.5 and 9 hours, the shortest being the trip to Graciosa and the longest the one to Faial. The port is served by Atlanticoline.
Getting there and the terminal
The port lies on the east coast of Terceira in the bay of Praia da Vitória, between the headlands of Ponta da Má Merenda and Ponta do Baixio. It is the island's commercial port: alongside the ferry berths, cargo is handled here too.
Expect not to arrive in the town centre. The port authority Portos dos Açores puts the distance to the town of Praia da Vitória at three kilometres, to Lajes airport at six kilometres and to Angra do Heroísmo at 24 kilometres. For those last few kilometres you need a car, a taxi or a bus.
According to Portos dos Açores, the port site includes a car park and a separate parking area for coaches.
