Psara ferry port lies on the island of the same name west of Chios, in the north-eastern Aegean. From here you can reach 4 destinations, among them Chios, Mytilene and Oinousses. Together the services run up to 8 departures a day. Crossings take between 2 and 7 hours. The port is served by Hellenic Seaways.
The number of departures says little about everyday reality here. Psara is a small landing stage on a thinly served route, and the sailings cluster on a few days of the week rather than following a daily pattern. Piraeus, Chios and Mytilene on Lesbos are called at on one to two days a week, and neighbouring Oinousses likewise. If you stay overnight on Psara, plan the stay around the boat rather than the other way round: several days can pass between two sailings. Look at the timetable below for your specific date before you plan the return journey.
Check-in
Hellenic Seaways requires you to be in the boarding area at least an hour before departure, with or without a vehicle. Tickets are never issued on board. So buy your ticket beforehand, or getting to the quay on time will do you no good.
