The ferry port of Pserimos lies on the island of the same name in the Dodecanese, between Kos and Kalymnos in the South Aegean region. From here you can reach Kalymnos and Mastichari on Kos, both in a quarter of an hour. The boats run on around two days of the week, and together the routes add up to as many as 4 departures a day. The port is served by Lafasi. At a quarter of an hour the crossing is one of the shortest in the Aegean, and it shapes the character of the port: Pserimos is a destination for the day rather than a stage of a journey in its own right.
Getting there and the terminal
The berth lies at Avlakia, the only village on the island, on the west side of Pserimos. Arrive here and you are standing right in the village and need no onward transport; from the harbour a rising path leads over to Panagia Grafiotissa beach. There is no link to the Greek mainland: you reach Pserimos only via Kalymnos or via Mastichari in the north of Kos, and the small boats essentially run in the warmer half of the year.
